President’s Message

The new season is upon us. Spring is the time of rebirth and eternal love. It is the time of year when optimism most abounds. I was pleased at the last meeting with the upbeat attitude of our members. New enterprises were approved. Let us now follow all those worthy discussions with action.

We have three programs coming up in which we can demonstrate our dedication to the art and craft of writing. In April and May our meetings will be held at the Lucerne Valley and Hesperia libraries. We members with our open mike readings will be the program. Let us try to make our presentations enlightening as well as entertaining. We might even benefit by reading our works to an interested party or tape recorder as sort of a rehearsal.

The April 27 program at SWIM is another opportunity for us to let others know who and what we, as poets and writers, represent The Seniors With Inquiring Minds is no5t just a slogan, it is a description of the members. Do not hesitate to tackle serious and even controversial topics. Inquiring minds are also OPEN Minds.

A mensa mentality goes nowhere without a resolve for decisive action. Procrastination is poison!
